TANZANIA NATIONAL COORDINATING MECHANISM GLOBAL FUND TO FIGHT HIV/AIDS, TB, MALARIA

Call for contribution of ideas to be considered in the preparation of the proposal for global fund round 3 rolling continuation channel

Background
Tanzania has considerable success in accessing funds from the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) as several grants are financing services for these 3 diseases in the country. They include:

1. Round 1; HIV/AIDS, Malaria
2. Round 3: HIV/TB Combined
3. Round 4: HIV and Malaria
4. Round 6: TB
5. Round 7: Malaria
6. Round 8:HIV/AIDS and Malaria (accepted for funding)

Global Fund Round 3 proposal expires in October 2009. Because of the good performance of the grant the country has qualified to apply for additional financial support under the Rolling Continuation Channel (RCC). The RCC is designed to provide priority funding to strong performing grants, and is different from the existing Rounds-based channel for new proposals.

In view of this, the preparation for the RCC proposal has started and the objective is to scale up and/or change the scope of the same interventions included in the expiring grant titled; “Scaling-up access to quality VCT as an entry point to comprehensive care and support services for TB and HIV/AIDS in Tanzania Mainland through a coordinated multi-sectoral partnership, United Republic of Tanzania, Tanzania Mainland. Deadline for submission of the RCC proposal to the GFATM is 28th February 2009.

To allow wider participation of stakeholders, Tanzania National Coordinating Mechanism (TNCM) invites interested stakeholders to contribute ideas that may be used to enrich the proposal. Access the original GFATM Round 3 proposal.

Deadline for submission:
Ideas should be submitted in a written form to the TNCM Secretariat before 15:30 hrs, Friday 13th February 2009. Submissions should be made to:
