Tanzania National Network of Girls and Young Women Living with HIV/AIDS positive (TANGYWA+) 

TANGYWA+ is a national network of young girls and younger women living with HIV. The network started in 2004 and registered under NGO in 2007. The network aims at fighting new HIV infections, advocacy on human rights, and sexual and reproductive health for girls and women of lower ages. The vision of the network is to have community that pays heed to equality, peace and humanity for girls and younger women of tender ages who uses their power in implementing their roles. The mission is to improve wellbeing of girls and women in sharing vision, language, in implementing needs of various disadvantages groups by ways of capacitating, coordinating and strengthening relationship with stakeholders and other networks. Implementation of network activities. The network deals and focuses on assisting girls and young women who have been discriminated by considering their humanity in order to enable them reach their objectives. Other activities includes; to improve lives of girls and young women LHIV by way of providing moral and psycho-socio support, to assist on nutrition and school facilities for orphans, training on treatment and care for AIDS patients, family counseling, HBC, making fliers with different messages. Also training on life skills, reproductive health education, HIV/AIDS counseling and others. The network also deals with advocacy on issues related to stigma, community justice, advocacy on easy availability of treatments, 

Currently the network is working in 8 regions of Tanzania mainland which are: Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro, Dodoma, Singida, Mwanza, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro. Among the achievements includes: Getting formal registration, participating in advocacy campaign, presenting papers in various for a, of local as well as international, assisting orphans and vulnerable children, joing in national networks and forum (FONNEPHAT). 

Challenges: Lack of financial resources, lack of working facilities, stigma and discrimination, poverty among girls and young women, non involvement in preparation of different policies aiming at improving wellbeing of girls and young women living with HIV/AIDS.
