INVITATION FOR BIDS: TENDER No IE/010/2009/2010/W/005

CONSTRUCTION OF MAIN ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AS DESIGN-BUILD TENDER

The Government of Tanzania has set aside funds received from the Government of Denmark for support to the Health Sector Reform, Phase 4 to construct a new Main Administration office Scheme for Tanzania Commission for Aids (TACAIDS) to be located at Sokoine Drive/Luthuli Street in Dar es Salaam.

TACAIDS now invites interested qualified Building Contractors registered or eligible for registration with Contractors Registration Board of Tanzania to participate in bidding for a Design-Build Construction contract. 

Tender will be conducted through international competitive bidding procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2005 (Goods, Works and non-Consultant services and Disposal of Public Assets by Tender) in Tanzania – Government Notice No. 97.

Condition applicable to this bidding:
All Class One Building Contractors in Tanzania and International Contractors eligible for registration in Class One with Contractors Registration Board in Tanzania can apply and will be provided with bid documents upon payment of a non refundable fee of TZS 100,000.00 in Cash, Banker’s Draft or Banker’s cheque in the name of

Tender Procedure
The Tender procedure will be post-qualification tender of the Contractors as part of the tender package, and the Contractor shall associate with own duly registered design consultants registered or eligible for registration in Tanzania to assist in the necessary documentation development. The consultant’s qualification will form part of the Contractors qualification in the evaluation of the tender bid.

The Project
The Building Contract comprises approx 3500m2 modern 5 storey office building complete and the bidding is based on concept design developed by TACAIDS consultants and will include civil and building works, electrical installation, plumbing and mechanical HVAC installations all with associated supply of materials, equipment and plant, external works and landscaping.

The Tender Document
The tender documents issued to interested contractors will be in hardcopies and soft copies of the concept design and other documents for use to develop the tender bid.

Tender Security
All tenders must provide Tender Security to be submitted together with the Bid.

Tender Period
Interested contractors are now kindly invited to obtain Bid documents which will be issued from 21st June 2010 from
